Kathleen Wallace Greer has made hand-thrown functional stoneware
pottery for over 35 years. Having been drawn to the arts since her childhood, Kathleen trained at the Toledo Museum of Art.
There she refined her craft and developed a technique of using a wood roller to imprint the image of local botannicals
into the wet clay of her pieces.
Upon her arrival to the Tucson area 14 years ago, Kathleen's pottery became
a visual and tactile expression of the deep kinship she came to feel with the Sonoran Desert. The sky, the earth
and the vegetation are reflected in her choice of colors. The stoneware itself becomes the earth from which the imprinted
botannicals grow.
Kathleen's work is available for purchase at her studio in Oro Valley; in Tucson at
Tohono Chul Park and Old Town Artisans; in Phoenix at the Desert Botannical Gardens; in Tubac at Manos Gallery; and in Sedona
at Esteban's and Zonie's.
Kathleen also offers instruction from her Oro Valley studio.
